Bonding
This versatile treatment can fix cracks, gaps, discoloration, and even replace silver amalgam fillings with natural-looking results. Using a composite resin molded to your tooth and hardened with an LED light, bonding provides a durable and aesthetically pleasing solution that can last over 10 years. It’s a safe, affordable way to restore your smile’s appearance and function.
Dental Bridges
Dental bridges are a reliable option for replacing missing teeth. The procedure involves using your existing teeth to create a “bridge” that spans the gap, with a pontic (false tooth) in the middle. Made from durable materials like porcelain or metal, bridges are custom-designed to match the natural appearance of your teeth. The process includes reshaping the abutment teeth, creating a mold, and fitting a temporary bridge while the permanent one is crafted. Once the final bridge is ready, it’s securely placed to restore both function and appearance.
Full/Partial Dentures
For those missing multiple teeth, dentures offer a full or partial replacement. Full dentures can be conventional (after tissue healing) or immediate (placed right after tooth extraction), and are designed to restore the appearance and function of your smile. Partial dentures fill in gaps when some natural teeth remain. Though it may take time to adjust, dentures eventually feel more natural with regular use.
Periodontics
Periodontal (gum) disease is a silent and progressive infection that begins with plaque, a sticky film that forms on your teeth. Over time, plaque hardens into tartar, which accumulates and houses bacteria that attack the gums. This early stage is called Gingivitis, and if left untreated, it can progress to Periodontitis, destroying both the soft tissue and the bone that support your teeth. In its early stages, there are few symptoms beyond bad breath and bleeding gums, making it easy to overlook. By the time you notice tooth loss, the disease may have advanced significantly.
Tooth loss is just one consequence of gum disease. Research has shown a connection between gum disease and serious health conditions like stroke, heart disease, diabetes, and even an increased risk for pregnant women. Gum disease weakens your immune system, affecting your overall health. Thankfully, modern treatments have made it possible to manage gum disease without the fear of painful surgery. Seeking care early can help protect your smile and your health.
Sealants
Sealants are an effective way to protect molars from tooth decay and cavities. Molars are especially prone to decay because they’re used for chewing and are harder to clean. Sealants are best applied when molars first come in, around ages 5-7, to provide early protection. The process involves applying an adhesive to the tooth, then painting on a liquid sealant that hardens into a protective barrier. Sealants last about 10 years and can be reapplied if needed.
Extractions
The procedure to remove wisdom teeth involves local or general anesthesia. The gum tissue is cut, and the tooth is either removed or broken into pieces if it’s impacted. Afterward, rest, soft foods, and prescribed pain medication are necessary for recovery. You may need ice packs and a cleaning solution to aid healing.
TMJ
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) connects your lower jaw to your skull and controls jaw movements like chewing. If you have pain in your jaw muscles or joint, you might have temporomandibular disorder (TMD), often caused by stress, jaw clenching, or teeth grinding.
Symptoms of TMD:
Pain when opening or closing your mouth
Difficulty chewing
Jaw locking
Headaches or ear pain
Clicking or popping sounds in your jaw
Teeth grinding
Treatment Options:
If you think you have TMD, see a dentist. For short-term relief, try pain relievers and hot/cold compresses. A night guard can help with teeth grinding. In severe cases, surgery may be needed, but behavioral treatments often provide long-term relief.
Implants
Dental implants offer a reliable, long-lasting solution for replacing missing or extracted teeth. Our implant process is designed with your comfort and convenience in mind, from the surgical placement of the implant to the final restoration. The implant integrates with your jawbone over a few months, creating a stable foundation for a custom-made crown that looks and feels like your natural tooth.
Endodontics
Endodontics focuses on the nerves inside your teeth, with root canals being the most common procedure to treat infections in the tooth’s root. The infected nerves are removed, and the canal is cleaned and sealed with gutta percha. A crown is often recommended afterward to protect and strengthen the tooth. Thanks to modern pain management and local anesthetics, root canals are now much more comfortable, with most patients experiencing little to no pain during the procedure. If you’re experiencing tooth pain, consult your dentist for relief and treatment.
Veneers
Veneers are thin ceramic shells that cover the front of your teeth, correcting issues like staining, cracks, gaps, chips, and misalignment. The process typically takes two to three visits—starting with a consultation to plan your new look, followed by precise tooth preparation and impressions. Your custom veneers are crafted at a top-quality laboratory, and while they’re being made, we provide a temporary solution to maintain your smile. Once ready, your veneers are bonded securely, giving you a long-lasting, natural-looking result.
Crowns
Crowns are often used to protect and strengthen weakened or damaged teeth. If a tooth is cracked or decayed, a crown will cover and support it, preventing further issues. Porcelain crowns are a popular choice as they blend seamlessly with your natural teeth. The process typically requires two to three visits: reshaping the tooth, taking impressions, and fitting a temporary crown while the permanent one is made. After placement, crowns are durable, lasting 10-15 years with proper care.
Bonding
Bonding is a cost-effective and aesthetic solution for improving the appearance of your teeth. Whether fixing chips, cracks, gaps, or discoloration, composite resin is applied to the affected area, sculpted to shape, and hardened with an LED light. Bonding offers a quick and effective solution that lasts for years, making it an ideal choice for many dental concerns.
Mouth Guards
Mouth guards are essential for athletes in contact sports like football, hockey, and basketball, protecting teeth, jaws, and soft tissues from injury. They can also help reduce the risk of concussions. While store-bought mouth guards are available, they often don’t fit well and provide less protection. For the best comfort and safety, a custom mouth guard from your dentist is ideal. It offers better protection, easy breathing, and clear communication, allowing you to perform at your best.
Wisdom Teeth Removal
Wisdom teeth typically emerge in your late teens or early twenties, but they can cause issues if they’re impacted or only partially emerge. Impacted wisdom teeth may cause pain, infections, and damage to surrounding teeth. Regular dental exams and x-rays help identify if removal is needed.
Oral Pathology
Oral pathology specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases of the mouth and jaw, such as mouth cancer, infections, and salivary gland disorders. If you have concerns or experience complications after surgery, your dentist can guide you to the appropriate treatment.
Nightguards
Bruxism, or teeth grinding, often occurs at night and can damage enamel, wear down teeth, cause jaw pain, and irritate gums. The noise from grinding can also disturb your partner’s sleep. To protect your teeth, consider using a night guard. This custom-fitted device creates a barrier between your top and bottom teeth while you sleep, preventing damage. Night guards are durable and can last up to 10 years.
In addition to using a night guard, try relaxing your jaw, avoiding chewing gum or pens, and limiting alcohol and caffeine, as these can increase grinding. If you suspect you may be grinding your teeth at night, schedule an appointment with us for a custom night guard.
